Originally from Serbia, Milan has been a passionate cinephile for nearly 15 years. Though once hoped to formally study film and eventually become a filmmaker, that dream never happened. Instead he took a self-taught path by watching several thousand of films and reading about cinema whenever time allowed. Combined with an interest for history, it created an obsession with the evolution of film: styles, movements, and how they reflect cultural and political shifts. This led to the creation of CinemaWaves.

These days, he’ll review quite anything, though he is partial to Italian neorealism, American underground film, and whoever is using cinema as a method of interrogating power structures.
